Q1 2025: Deprecation of Exports & Introduction of Syncs
Optable is sunsetting audience exports in favor of Syncs, a more unified and efficient way to activate audiences. Syncs centralize synchronization logic at the destination level, eliminating the need to manage exports for each audience individually.
What’s Changing?
As we gradually transition destinations to Syncs, exports will remain available until all destinations adopt the new model. At that point, Syncs will become the primary audience activation method and we will be completely deprecating exports.
Why Are We Making This Change?
As you create, edit, and manage your audiences, it’s important that external platforms always reflect the latest data from Optable—your audience source of truth. Rather than manually scheduling exports and updates, Syncs ensure your audiences stay automatically and continuously updated across all platforms.
In addition, managing individual exports per audience can become complex and time-consuming. Syncs provide a simpler, more scalable approach to keeping your audience data accurate and consistent everywhere you need it.
Benefits of Syncs
Streamlined Activation – All destinations now appear as simple, toggleable cards under the Sync tab. Just toggle sync on for an audience, and Optable keeps it continuously updated.
Always-On Syncing – No more manually timing exports. Syncs ensure continuous updates without the need for re-exports.
One-Time Setup – Configure each destination once to define how it should sync, and Optable automates the rest.
Improved Visibility – Centralized 'audiences' and 'history' tabs at the destination level provide clear reporting on when audiences were last synced.
Reliable Syncing – Checkpointing ensures that if an issue occurs during a sync, it resumes automatically once resolved.
